
In 1951, part of the watercolors being made, they are exhibited in Rome. Each wood engraving by Dali signed on the plate and each wood engraving hand signed by Dali quite boldly in red crayon- In 1950, at the request of the "Libreria dello stato" in Rome, Salvador Dali undertook to produce 100 watercolors illustrating the 100 songs of Dante's Divine Comedy to produce a luxury edition. With 100 full-page compositions by Salvador Dali - Dimensions for the engravings laid loose in its clam shell box are 10 by 13 inches thus large suite of 100 wood colored engravings in a separate navy blue silk lined clam shell box.
